TCP/IP Control: Selecting IP Addresses
Caution:
One or more of these address ranges may already be in use on your office network and thus, should be avoided. Contact your network administrator to find out which range(s) can be used in your environment.
It is mandatory that you use different IP addresses on your office LAN and on your instrument LAN. Dionex recommends the following settings:
For the instrument LAN (network interface adapter and connected chromatography devices), select
IP addresses between 192.168.60.1 and 192.168.60.254;
for the subnet mask select: 255.255.255.0.
If the IP address on the office LAN network interface adapter starts with 192.168.
for the instrument LAN (network adapter and connected chromatography devices), select
IP addresses between 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.254;
for the subnet mask select: 255.255.255.0.
If you cannot select the above addresses, Dionex recommends that you use an IP address from one of the following address ranges. These addresses have been reserved for private networks (instrument LANs) by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA):
10.0.0.1 - 10.255.255.254 (10/8 prefix)
172.16.0.1 - 172.31.255.254 (172.16/12 prefix)
192.168.0.1 - 192.168.255.254 (192.168/16 prefix)
