Installing the DX-LAN Card Driver: Windows XP
Tip:
In order to install the DX-LAN card driver, you must be logged onto Windows XP with administrator privileges. If necessary, ask the Windows XP administrator to grant you administrator privileges temporarily.
After installing the DX-LAN Plug-and-Play card in the computer and cabling the DX-LAN network, turn on the computer.
When Windows XP starts, you will be prompted for the DX-LAN card driver disk. Insert the driver disk in the appropriate drive.
When Windows XP has finished installing the driver, open the Control Panel and double-click the Network Connections icon.
The Network Connections dialog box appears. The contents of the dialog box vary, depending on which network cards were previously installed in the computer.
Right-click the icon for the DX-LAN connection, and select Properties on the context menu.
The Local Area Connection Properties dialog box appears.
In the This connection uses the following items list, clear all check boxes except the QoS Packet Scheduler box.
If QoS is not listed here, you must install it now. Click Install to display a list of options; select Services and click Add. A list of services appears; select Qos Packet Scheduler and click OK to begin the installation.
Click OK to close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
Restart the computer, if prompted.
