Installing the DX-LAN Card Driver: Windows Vista
Tip:
In order to install the DX-LAN card driver, you must be logged onto Windows Vista with administrator privileges. If necessary, ask the Windows Vista administrator to grant you administrator privileges temporarily.
After installing the DX-LAN Plug-and-Play card in the computer and cabling the DX-LAN network, turn on the computer.
When Windows Vista starts, you will be prompted for the DX-LAN card driver disk. Insert the driver disk in the appropriate drive.
When Windows Vista has finished installing the driver, open the Control Panel and double-click the Network and Sharing Center icon.
The Network and Sharing Center appears. The information displayed here will vary, depending on which network cards were previously installed in the computer.
Under Tasks, select Manage network connections.
The Local Area Connection Properties dialog box appears.
In the This connection uses the following items list, clear all check boxes except the QoS Packet Scheduler box.
If QoS is not listed here, you must install it now. Click Install to display a list of options; select Services and click Add. A list of services appears; select Qos Packet Scheduler and click OK to begin the installation.
Click OK to close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
Restart the computer, if prompted.
