Configure the server:

 

Logon as

 Note:  

If mass spectrometry is supported, this section is disabled.

 

 

LocalSystem

Select this option if you want to work only locally.

 

 

This Account

Select this option to logon the server under a specific Windows account. Specify the account by entering the Domain, the User, and the Password. Retype the password as required.

 Tips: 

The User must be a member of the Chromeleon Operators group.

Create a separate account for the server if the standard users have to change their passwords in regular intervals. This saves you the effort to change the password for the CM Server service in regular intervals, also.

 

 

Enable Mass Spectrometry support

Select this check box to enable mass spectrometry support.

 Note:  

If this option is selected, the 'logon' is automatically set to the user who is currently logged on. This information is displayed under This Account but the entry is disabled.

 

 

Enable Online Transfer Agent

Select this check box to enable the Online Transfer Agent (OTA). On the Online Transfer Agent tab page, configure the OTA. When the Online Transfer Agent is enabled, it is started immediately.

 

 

Start Server at System Start

Select this check box to start the server automatically whenever the computer starts up.

 

 

Mass Spectrometry support is enabled/disabled

Indicates whether mass spectrometry is supported.

 Note:  

To enter these settings under Window Vista or later, you must start the Chromeleon Server Monitor program via the Run as Admin command. For details, please refer to chapter  Chromeleon and Windows Vista (or later).
